Bob Sheridan has been hit by bad luck, and he's been hit hard. Plagued by dreams, he's convinced that he's an alien reborn in a human body, an alien that died millions of years ago during a mission to Earth. At a loss and scared by his tales of hostile arachnids about to fall all over the planet to destroy its inhabitants, Bob's wife turns him in for stationary treatment, picking a clinic less than hospitable.

One of the nurses befriends Bob and decides to make something out of all the blabber. He tapes his sittings with Bob and writes a comic book based on the tale, making a fortune.

No one understands that Bob hasn't been hallucinating all this time. When the spiders strike, two teenagers discover that they, too, are aliens reborn and they notice that what's happening is exactly what they've been reading in a comic book series. They seek out the author and find out about Bob.
