Mark Hamill: Brother or Boyfriend?

Some girls see Mark as a brother... others would like him for a boyfriend! What do you see when you look at Mark Hamill?

All of Mark's recent roles show him as a very brotherly type of guy. In The Texas Wheelers, Mark was friendly and outgoing as part of the Wheeler family, and he really wasn't a romantic type! In Delancey Street, Mark played a sensitive guy in need of friends, to help him through an emotional time in his life.

Even in Sarah T.: Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic, Mark was very much like a brother, though he played Linda Blair's boyfriend. The role, Mark admits, was very much like him - he has very romantic moments but, underneath it all, he's very protective and natural around girls... sort of like a brother!

RESPECT
In Sarah T., you'll remember if you saw it on TV, there was a scene in which Sarah (Linda Blair) was trying to find out just how Mark felt about her. She was getting romantic but Mark didn't feel like talking because they both had to study for their test at school! If your first reaction to Mark in this scene is - "Whatta creep - the studying could have waited!" then maybe you wouldn't be able to get romantically involved with Mark! Some girls like a boyfriend who's lovey-dovey all the time, who's constantly showing affection and attention.

But if you sided with Mark, then maybe you and Mark could agree enough to match up as a couple! To Mark's way of thinking, there's a time and a place for everything. Getting cozy and romantic with a girl he likes is fine, but if there's business to take care of, the business might have to come first!

Actually, Mark prefers to be brotherly and then naturally become a boyfriend, if all the timing and chemistry is right! He likes girls he can really talk to, sometimes even have friendly arguments with, just like he would with his male friends. Having a girlfriend only to show off or to impress other people (or himself), isn't for Mark... he'd rather have girls only as friends than only as girlfriends! A mixture, he says, is much more to his liking!

NOT YET
Right now, Mark's dating several girls, and finding more girls all the time who are becoming good friends of his! He's a naturally likable guy who loves to talk, have a good time and be with other people! Though he's sometimes attracted to a girl just by her looks at first, he pays attention mostly to personality. If he can't enjoy talking to her, he probably wouldn't take her out for anything!

Matching up with Mark's idea of boyfriend/girlfriend relationships might be easy for you! But that doesn't mean you'd see Mark only as a boyfriend. Just like Mark, you'd prefer to have a brotherly type of guy whom you also felt romantic about... and what could be nicer than that? That's Mark Hamill!!
