Mark Hamill: The Look of a Teen Idol?

Come meet the guy who's been sending the girls into a spin and coming out breathless! Take a deep breath and focus your attention on Mark Hamill!

He's sitting casually on the chair, dressed in his favorite "anything comfortable" clothes, but his blue eyes and his hands are doing fantastic things as he talks. Whenever Mark Hamill speaks, you listen because he's so alive and eager to share his thoughts with you!

He'll brush his light brown hair out of his eyes so you can get the message directly from his eyes staring into your own. You're hypnotized until he stops, grins shyly and asks, "Do you see what I mean?"

You nod dumbly and take a deep breath. If you can only remember what he was saying, you know for a fact that he meant business!

OPTIMISTIC?

He's that kind of guy. Honest. He digs communicating with people! You can tell by the way he leans forward to listen to you speak, nodding his head in agreement, eyes sparkling.

He always seems to be smiling because he's an optimist from the word go! One of his favorite ways to spend free time is just sitting around dreaming about happy times. And many of those happy times are centered on what he loves best – acting! The most exciting thing, he says, "is being able to express myself. To communicate with an audience --- making them laugh or feel any emotion."

EXPERT?

If you caught Mark on the episode of Owen Marshall - Counselor at Law then you feel those emotions!

He played the son of a retired singer who's caught in the middle of his parents' problems. Mark's performance had everyone asking who did such a fine job on those scenes showing the confusion, hurt and love to laugh! When asked what kind of qualities he looked for in a girl, he answered immediately!

"Warmth, honesty, and a sense of humor!" Laughing and enjoying life is such pleasure to him that he likes to be with a girl who feels the same way.

FAMILY THING?

Born in Oakland, California, Mark comes from a family who feels exactly the same way he does. Of course, with seven children in a family, a guy always manages to find fun and laughter a big part of his life.

He digs being with his family because he says, "We're all friends." He counts some of the happiest moments in his life as those when his younger sister and brothers were born.

But on those rare moments when he does want to be alone, Mark really appreciates living in Laurel Canyon where he can walk and find a vacant hill or woods and be by himself. A perfect day for him would be spent either painting or finding another rare book to add to his collection, then returning home to a dinner of southern fried chicken topped off with caramel custard for dessert!

WHO? ME?

He may not admit it to you but he's still in the process of trying to get used to the attention that's been coming his way lately!

He's excited and pleased about the offers for jobs that have been pouring in but mostly because he wants "to experience as many aspects of the entertainment industry as I can."

When someone comes up to him and asks him for his autograph, he still might turn around to make sure they're talking to him, then ask "Who, ME?!"

He's a young man who knows what he wants and has all the equipment geared for success. People are his hobby, he loves them. This, added to his eager smile, openness, and old fashioned friendliness, not to mention talent, make him a very likely candidate for stepping up on that pedestal reserved for teen idols.

But when he is invited to take that first step, you can be sure he'll turn to you with those big, blue eyes, brush his hair out of his face and say, "Who, ME?!"

That's just the way he is. "Yes, you—Mark Hamill!"
