March 13, 2022: Hard week, Volume III

Dear Hamillites,

those of you who are Star Wars fans might already be familiar with the term Darth Real Life. (Anyone else, you are now.) It's been eating up all my time these last three weeks and I'm sorry for that. I can only say that I'm working on my surprise project every time I get the chance and will upload it as soon as it's ready.

In the meantime, I will do whatever I can to keep bringing you at least the weekly Mark TV schedule.

I also picked a Video of the Week for you. I might have chosen that one before already, but even if, it's always fun to rewatch. Pic of the Week is to your right as well.

Be safe, Hamillites! See you next week.

March 6, 2022: Hard week, Volume II

Dear Hamillites,

another rough week under the weather and with too little time, and I'm sorry for that. I'll try again for next week.

Until then, there's a really well-filled weekly Mark TV schedule for Hamillites in the US and Germany. As well as the Video of the Week and the Pic of the Week.

Until next Sunday. Be safe, everyone!

February 27, 2022: Hard week

Dear Hamillites,

I shouldn't have written something last week; apparently, I jinxed it. This has been quite a difficult week and I'm somewhat under the weather, so I couldn't work on my surprise project as planned and it's still at 50%. I'm hoping to pick it up again within this week.

I don't want to go a weekend without anything here, so I did the Mark TV schedule for you, and I picked a Video of the Week and a Pic of the Week.

Fingers crossed for a better week to come. Stay safe, Hamillites!

February 20, 2022: Busy, busy

Dear Hamillites,

another week gone by and I've been a busy bee. The surprise project has reached fifty percent and is perfectly on track. (A bit of a surprise that nothing chaotic has yet happened to delay it, but I'm not complaining!)

As I told you, it's monopolizing my computer time and preventing me from working on other sections of the site. But there's a very cool and very long Video of the Week for you to the right.

And I have the latest Mark TV schedule for you, complete this time again for the USA, the UK and Germany.

Cross your fingers that I'll keep making such good progress!

Until next week, Hamillites. Stay safe. <3

February 13, 2022: On track and not on track

Dear Hamillites,

I hope you had a lovely week. I've been quite busy with the surprise project and it's on track, but you still will have to be patient until March. It's quite massive. But I'm confident you'll love it.

I could unveil it bit by bit each week, but I think that would really negate its final effect. So we won't have any of that and the updates will be short until I have it finished.

Of course I have the weekly Mark TV schedule for you. The source I use for the US is down today, unfortunately, but you're covered until the 15th. Hopefully, it's just a short-term glitch and I can update during the next few days.

The German TV schedule is up to date until next Sunday as always. And of course there's a Video of the Week to your right that I can highly recommend.

I'll work a little more on my surprise now. ;-)

Until next week, Hamillites! Stay safe.

February 6, 2022: News and Project Kick-off

Dear Hamillites,

welcome to this week's update on Just The Best.

We know now that Mark's been in Vancouver to work on The Fall of the House of Usher. Very excited for this and already the wait feels way too long!

And if you haven't checked the latest episode of The Book of Boba Fett out yet, I would recommend you to do so. Really, do!

I have finally kicked off a JTB project I've been wanting to do for ages. I don't know yet when I'll be ready to share - it's ambitious and it'll still take quite some work. But I'm aiming for March.

It's called WOW. Feel free to speculate. ;-)

Of course I also have this week's Mark TV schedule for you, as well as a Video of the Week and a Pic of the Week.

See you next week, Hamillites! Stay safe.

January 30, 2022: Breaking Furniture

Dear Hamillites,

do you know how that is, when everything seems to conspire against you? In my case, even furniture? Like a desk literally breaking while you work at it, so that you need to spend your weekend finding a new one? At least I was lucky enough that my monitors survived.

Well, it makes for another short update, but the weekly Mark TV schedule is here for you at least. As well as a swoony Pic of the Week and an equally swoony Video of the Week.

And a piece of news - Mark's on location for a new project. Not sure where yet. If you follow him on Twitter (and you do, don't you?), you have seen that he's keeping us guessing as to where exactly he is. Maybe you're better at piecing together the clues than I!

I'm a little afraid to think what else might happen next week to keep me away from Just The Best. If you can manage, maybe cross a finger or two for me. ;-)

See you next week, Hamillites. Be safe!

January 23, 2022: Weather Change

Dear Hamillites,

I hope you had a lovely week. Probably you wonder why I tell you about the weather. Easy. Weather change means headache, headache means minimal screen time.

I didn't want to leave you without your weekly Mark goodies, though, so I drafted up the weekly Mark TV schedule and picked your video of the week for you to enjoy:

The good (and weird) thing about my weather-induced headaches is that, while brooding in annoyance over not being able to work on the website, I usually get plenty of ideas to add to that long to-do list of mine. Always something good in the bad. ;)

Looking forward to next week without headache and more Mark. Be safe!

January 16, 2022: Some Treasures

Dear Hamillites,

welcome to this week's update on Just The Best. After you check out this week's Mark TV schedule, you'll dive right into Wing Commander.

If you are good at gaming, this will be something you will remember. If you're not (like me), this might be the first time you actually see these. Either way, enjoy!

Now, as a wrap-up, something completely different. I have these and I'm not planning on ever unboxing them, so it was a happy surprise to find somebody has done that for me (I had to switch off the music, but maybe that's just me *g*).

Looking forward to next week's update. Until then, Hamillites. Be safe!

January 9, 2022: Walk down memory lane

Dear Hamillites,

how has the first week of 2022 been to you? I hope you're all doing well.

Let's start off this week's update with the weekly Mark TV schedule. There are plenty of goodies for fans in the USA and Germany to look forward to.

Now, look what gem I found for a walk down memory lane:

And here's a long goody that's way more recent:

Evening saved, right? ;-D

Looking forward to seeing you all for next week's update. Be safe!

January 2, 2022: Happy new year!

Dear Hamillites,

I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2022 and a splendid start into it. Since mine is starting with a headache, I'll leave you with the updated Mark TV schedule and this video. It might be short, but it's so recent and it's always a joy to see him if only for a few seconds:

My JTB plans for 2022 are set and I hope to make lots of progress on them. See you next week, Hamillites!

December 26, 2021: Merry Christmas!

Dear Hamillites,

I hope that all of you who celebrate Christmas are enjoing peaceful and happy days with your loved ones; and that all of you who don't celebrate are having a great weekend as well. ;-)

Since Christmas is family time, I only have a few moments at the computer. Enough to bring you the updated Mark TV schedule, a delightful blast from the past with our Video of the Week and a Picture of the Week.

Enjoy the rest of Christmas.

Until next week, Hamillites. Stay safe!

December 19, 2021: An early Christmas loot

Hello Hamillites,

I hope you're all doing as well as can be. Since Christmas will already be over by next Sunday's update, I thought I'd give you a merry video loot today to gorge on. But before digging into those, check out this week's Mark TV schedule to see what you can catch on the telly. And look at the Video of the Week for a trip down memory lane - and then pop in Corvette Summer again, because it really is a good movie, I think.

Now, let's start with a video where you just know that Mark, as a huge Beatles fan, has had so much fun with. Our favorite actor, a great song, a cool video... leaves you wanting for nothing, doesn't it?

Next, check out what Mark had to say about Return of the Jedi being added to the US National Film Registry.

We're not done yet. Remember that Mark filmed The Machine earlier this year in Serbia? Check out this interview with Bert Kreischer talking about working with Mark.

Until next week, Hamillites. Be safe!

December 12, 2021: New pics, videos, project

Hello Hamillites,

as always, I hope you had a lovely week. Today's update comes with a host of goodies.

The greatest piece of news first: Mark will be part of Mike Flanagan's new Netflix series Fall of the House of Usher. No word yet on which character he will play. All details as of yet known are here.

On December 7, Mark was at Galaxy of Wishes: A Night to Benefit Make-A-Wish at Disneyland in Anaheim, where he honored Richard and Demi Weitz with the Make-A-Wish Award. Details on the event are here. There are plenty of new pictures, one of them to your right as Picture of the Week and many more at Getty Images. There are also some videos:

Of course I also have the weekly Mark TV schedule for you to check out, and I picked a Video of the Week for you.

Already looking forward to the next update, particularly because it'll be the start of my vacation. ;-D

Until then, Hamillites. Be safe!

December 5, 2021: Sweet Delights

Hello Hamillites,

how have you been this week? Already feeling some Christmas spirit, if you celebrate?

My mission this weekend were sweet delights, and for a change that had nothing to do with everyone's favorite actor. Only with cookies and other sugar-heavy Christmas preparations.

I still have your weekly Mark TV schedule for you, of course, and a piece of news. Want to hear Mark live in a table read of a classic, today? Then check out the details in his tweet below and listen in (you don't need cable, just a computer).

The countdown to my vacation is ticking down and you can't imagine how much I'm looking forward to it. All Christmas preparations will be done by next week. Be safe, Hamillites!

November 28, 2021: Surprise Family Visit

Hello Hamillites,

I hope you had a lovely week. I had family over for a surprise visit on this 1st weekend of Advent. The good news is that I won this Sunday's Settlers of Catan tournament, the less good news is that I lost spectacularly in Risk and didn't have much time to work on Just The Best.

I do have the weekly Mark TV schedule for you, though, and a new video clip that you're sure to love. I, for one, adore seeing video of Mark doing voices. Enjoy:

Now, the Video of the Week to your right you might already have seen, but it's one that's always great to watch.

Looking forward to next week's update and counting down to my Christmas vacation with lots of Just The Best time.

Be safe, Hamillites!

November 21, 2021: The WWW does forget

Hello Hamillites,

how are you? I hope you had a lovely week.

Let's start this week's update with two pieces to add to your Christmas wish list: According to collider.com, Nickelodeon is going to release a new Blu-ray collection of Avatar: The Last Airbender, in which Mark voiced Fire Lord Ozai. Check out all details here.

Also, according to BleedingCool, we'll get the complete series The Batman on Blu-ray, in which Mark voiced Tony Zucco. Check out details here.

I am working on getting the interview section back into shape, though it's shaping up to be a bit difficult. Turns out the internet does forget - many interview links don't work anymore and I'll need a while to brush up my old list. So this will be a step-by-step work. The new stuff will take a while longer, too, as it's all in various favorite lists and Excels... but I'll get this sorted out and also do those themed quotes I've been promising forever.

Of course I updated the Mark TV schedule for you with several goodies for Hamillites in the USA, the UK and Germany. And I picked a video of the week for you.

See you next Sunday. Be safe!

November 14, 2021: Internet Outage

Hello Hamillites,

another week gone by and another weekend where fate is conspiring against me. Work last week, internet outage this week. But no worries... as I work behind the scenes until I can upload more goodies from the past, I have an all new one for you below!

First, though, check this week's Mark TV schedule to see if there's anything you want to catch.

Now the goodie: If you weren't able to see Mark host Thunderful World or if you want to rewatch, here you go:

And of course I picked another Video of the Week for you to your right.

No worries, the rest of the year should be calmer and I will have a vacation coming up, so there will be plenty of Mark for you.

Until next week, Hamillites! Be safe. <3

November 7, 2021: Work Weekend

Hello Hamillites,

how have you been this week? I hope all is well, wherever you are. I unexpectedly needed to work this weekend, so I didn't have much time for Just The Best, but as I promised you, there will be an update every week.

Let's start with a piece of news, which will not be news for you if you follow Mark on Twitter (you do, don't you?). On November 5, he participated in a table read of It's A Wonderful Life, benefiting The Ed Asner Family Center. I hope many of you had the chance to contribute and listen in.

I also have the weekly Mark TV schedule for you with some goodies. Hamillites in Germany can look forward to a gem: Mark's appearance in Outer Limits will be on this week!

Once you've jotted down what you want to watch, click on over to the Video of the Week to your right. It's a great interview with Mark, John Rhys-Davies and Chris Roberts.

So, enjoy your Sunday Mark fix and come back next Sunday for more! I'll try my best not to let work interfere with the really important stuff.

Be safe, Hamillites!

October 31, 2021: Happy Hamillween!

Greetings Hamillites,

I hope your week has been great and that, if you're celebrating Halloween, you're already in costume and well stocked with plenty of candy!

Let's start with a piece of news. On November 1, Mark will host the video games presentation Thunderful World. Find details on The Gamer.

Now, I was thinking whether I could find something Halloween-ish for this week's update - chicken me still hasn't worked up the guts to watch Mark in Child's Play, unfortunately. So maybe something in costume?

Alas, check out all about Mark's appearance as Pel, the Ferna Herna in Space Cases: A Day in the Life. This is a very funny episode I can only recommend - you should also take the time to surf around on spacecasestv.com. There is an in-depth section on Mark's episode, too!

Before you go, check out this week's Mark TV schedule, as well as the Video of the Week.

Looking forward to next week already, with more Mark!

Be safe, Hamillites!

October 24, 2021: New interviews!

Greetings Hamillites,

How have you been this past week? Making plans for Halloween? It's not that big of a thing in Germany, but I welcome any excuse to eat sweets. Here's a little trivia: Our carneval season starts on November 11 and peaks in February with carnival parades.

Anyway, you're here for Mark, of course. So I have great news for you: Mark has lent his voice to the character Mayor Wrightson in an animated short for Creepshow: The Things In Oakwood's Past.

Check out what he has to say about his part in it and much more on CBR.com. There are also great interviews at ComicBook.com and TV Insider.

So, go and check out if you can watch this. As always, I also recommend a peek at the weekly Mark TV Schedule. And if you want a good laugh, check out the Video of the Week to your right.

See you next week, Hamillites, with more Mark. Be safe!

October 17, 2021: Autumn's here

Greetings Hamillites,

I hope you had a lovely week. In Germany, autumn has arrived and that means I better start now deciding on this year's Christmas cookies. But I guess that's not really why you're here.

I continue my little baby steps in getting this site back into shape, with two more movie sections reviewed. First, check out Walking Across Egypt, in which Mark played Lamar Benfield. This is a very uplifting and positive film that I warmly recommend; it will also make you laugh heartily more than once, I reckon.

Now, the contrast between Lamar Benfield and Michael Hawkins couldn't be any starker. This was Mark's character in the Swedish action thriller Hamilton and he's fabulously evil.

Of course I also updated your weekly Mark TV schedule; maybe there's a goodie you can catch. Also check out the Video of the Week to your right.

I'll be back next week with more updates from all over the timeline. Until then, stay safe, Hamillites!

October 10, 2021: More steps and news

Greetings Hamillites,

it's another JTB Sunday to finish off your weekend on a high note.

This week, I brushed up two of the movie sections. First, check out Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. If you haven't seen this one yet (and are of age), I recommend it for some good laughs. How about you hop on over to this week's Mark TV Schedule and find out when it's on in the US?

Second one: Reeseville, in which Mark played Zeek Oakman. This is quite a gripping crime story with twists you won't see coming. I quite enjoyed it.

I hope to have more website time next weekend for some more and maybe bigger steps. ;) But wait, I said there are some news, didn't I?

Well, look below what fellow Mark fan LauraMacDB found! Aren't they all just beautiful? Of course I'll let you know more as soon as I find out what charity this is for and where you can get that book. Until next week, Hamillites! Stay safe.

October 3, 2021: Step by step

Greetings Hamillites,

welcome to JTB's Sunday update. I hope you had a great week and lovely weekend.

After spending several evenings failing to jot down that logical plan my inner perfectionist always craves, I've decided to do something all new. Not make a plan! Instead, I'll jump all over the projects and timeline and site sections with my updates and you'll never know what to expect.

Today we start with The Black Pearl, Mark's very own comic book series. In the respective section you'll find some basic information, as well as photos of my comics and a short summary. I expect to add to the section with more background trivia as I go through old interviews.

I also have this week's Mark TV Schedule for you, with some goodies for Hamillites in the USA, the UK and Germany. I realize nowadays you probably all stream, and I actually have several handy things planned in that regard. You can start betting on how long it'll take me to get to them. ;-D

I'm already looking forward to next week's update and leave you with a throwback to last week, with my annual birthday cake for Mark. Take care, Hamillites!

September 25, 2021: Happy Birthday, Mark!

Hello Hamillites,

I bet you were convinced you'd never hear from me again; and for sure, life did anything it could think of to keep me away. But what do you know, I am back and without boring you with a detailed account of the chaos of the last few years, I can tell you that things have changed and I am here to stay.

So here we go, with an all-new layout for Just The Best. What do you think? Like it? I'm quite happy with it. Unsurprisingly, many sections are anything but up-to-date, but with the layout in place, I can put full focus on getting everything back on here that has never yet made it from the old versions. And of course there are tons of new projects Mark has done since my last update, which will all find their way here.

There will be your customary Sunday update each week, and while my layout shenanigans will keep it short today, I did manage to bring you the latest Mark TV Schedule.

Of course, that I'm back today isn't a coincidence. ;-D So...

Happy birthday, Mark!

I wish you all the good things in the universe and hope you'll have a wonderful day with your loved ones.

Of course I made a birthday cake as I do every year and it'll be on my Twitter later today, as soon as I manage to snap a picture on which it does look actually appetizing (I'm good at cooking, not so much at photographing).

So, I'll be back next week. In the meantime, even though there's so much "Coming soon..." still everywhere, I'm sure you Hamsters will find things on here you didn't yet know. Or scroll down here. I left all the old updates up for now, until I can sort them properly into all the sections.

Take care, Hamillites!

~~**Sienn**~~

January 12, 2020

Dear Mark fans,

life is chaotic. This past year has been a rollercoaster on the personal and professional level for me. Many things have changed and there have been quite a few things I had to come to terms with.

Bar any more surprises life might throw at me, calm has returned finally. In every spare moment, I've been working on the drafts of a new layout amd site structure. Not long now anymore, and I will be able to upload it.

In the meantime, you can look forward to Mark guesting on What we do in the Shadows, and I'm sure there are tons more stuff on his plate. Expect it all to be here soon, in the 20th year of this place of Mark Hamill love.

Thank you to everyone who keeps checking back here and bears with me as I try to persuade life that working on this website is more important than its whims. ;)

Only a little bit longer, Hamillites. Only a little bit longer. :)

Take care, everyone!

February 3, 2019

Dear Mark fans,

I hope you had a splendid start into the New Year. As you might have guessed, personal issues have kept me away from the computer once more. Which doesn't mean I haven't had plenty opportunity to plan. And as there is light at the end of the issue-tunnel after the next one or two weeks, all the planning will be put into action.

In the meantime, please check out my Twitter at @SiennsMHPage for the latest news and pictures.

See you soon, and that's a promise. :)

November 11, 2018: Life and other chaos

Hi Hamillites!

Apologies for the prolonged silence. Work and an assortment of other issues got in the way, so Twitter was all I could do.

But much, much more important than that: According to Mark (tweet), he and his family are safe from the fires raging in California for the moment. Let's all hope from the bottom of our hearts that those will be contained and no more lives and homes are lost.

I am counting down to a three-week vacation for the end of the year which I plan to fully devote to this website. Until then, I will try to do whatever I can here. Please don't hesitate to look at my Twitter @SiennsMHPage; as I can do that from the phone, I can squeeze it in more easily in-between the daily insanity.

But I still have goodies for you today. If you go to Google and do a search for Mark, look at the right column and scroll until you see Top questions answered for some videos of Mark answering questions.

I also managed to get the Mark TV Schedule up to date again.

Take care of yourself, Hamillites, wherever you are. And look forward to a Hamillicious Christmas season here on Just The Best. <3

October 14, 2018: Step by Step

Hi Hamillites!

Apologies for the update pause last week. I just didn't manage. To make up for that, I present you today the trailer for Squadron 42: Star Citizen, in which Mark voices Lieutenant Commander Steve Colton:

Looks cool, doesn't it? I wish I was decent enough at gaming to actually play this.

In other news, we now know which role Mark is voicing in Avengers: Black Panther's Quest: He's playing Arnim Zola. More details here.

On November 12, Mark fans in the USA have the chance to see Batman: Mask of the Phantasm on the big screen and listen to Mark's brilliant acting as the Joker. Check out this article for more information.

Mark's original lightsaber from A New Hope and a Stormtrooper helmet from The Force Awakens which he signed will be up for auction in December. More about that here.

I'm making little baby steps in the sections of the site. Among other things, I have added two more character shots to the Regular Show page and am at last beginnning to get the Voicacting section updated. Focus on the word "beginning", ladies and gentlemen.

I also have the latest Mark TV Schedule up for you. I'm looking for good sources of cartoon and movie TV listings in the United States, the UK and basically any other place you might be. If you know of any good sites, I'd appreciate it if you dropped me a note so that we're not missing any of Mark's awesomeness.

My list of things I want to do with this site is so long, you wouldn't believe it. Come back next week for more Mark! <3

September 30, 2018: Cake, Knight, Clown, Voices

Hi Hamillites!

How has your week been? I needed to work overtime on Tuesday and did not manage any website work. Thankfully, there is Twitter and of course I wished Mark a happy birthday and ate his annual birthday cake for him. ;)

There has been some exciting news this week. We have the first picture of Mark as Talus in Knightfall. Check it out here. The article also teases us with a bit more information about his character. It's a marvelous look and it sounds like a deep, intriguing role. I absolutely cannot wait to see what Mark does with it on the screen.

Did you know that Mark is the narrator in the video game LET IT DIE? Check here to find out where to play it.

Also, starting October 16, you can get the new game Lego DC Super Villains, in which Mark voices Joker. More info here.

I have updated the Regular Show section with some new character images and I have also added to the list of episodes he voiced in. And of course I have the latest Mark TV Schedule ready for you.

Enjoy the update and I'll be back soon with more Mark! <3

September 23, 2018: Gearing up for Tuesday ;)

Hi Hamillites!

I hope you've had a great week that was less busy than mine. No week without an update, though.

Did you know that Mark narrated for the series Dimension 404? Check out the trailer here:

The reason I chose this for the update is that the show is running on German TV. I'm not sure they have the original voice track on it so that we can hear Mark, but maybe the trailer catches your interest enough that you want to watch it anyway. :)

Speaking of TV, the current Mark TV Schedule is ready for you with lots of goodies in Germany, the USA and Switzerland.

Check back on Tuesday. You should know why. ;) See you soon with more Mark!

September 16, 2018: Weekend Work

Hi Hamillites!

How are you? I hope you've had as sunny a September week as we here in my corner of Germany. I had to work this weekend and had no time for a decent update. Still, I don't want to leave you without some Mark to brighten your Sunday.

First of all, Mark is nominated as Best Actor at the Family Film Awards. The winners will be announced this Monday, September 17. Cross your fingers! I mean, we all know he is Just The Best, correct? ;)

Additionally, there is voiceover news. Mark is voicing in the animated movie The Legend of Hallowaiian by King’s Hawaiian. The film will be exclusively on DirecTV from September 20 through October 17 and will then be released in US cinemas on October 18. More information is here.

Forgive me for not updating the Mark TV Schedule today. There are some entries already beyond today and I will see whether I can do some updating during the week.

September 9, 2018: Joker Interview

Hi Hamillites!

How have you been? Everybody getting geared up and excited for September 25th? I am!

For this week, I have continued working on the Regular Show section with new character pictures and an updated list of episodes. I gotta pick up speed there, considering this is just one part of his stunning resume - to date! ;-)

Check out this great video interview of Mark talking about the one and only Clown Prince of Crime. It was recorded when he was attending the Jules Verne Festival in 2010, as far as I know. It's always fascinating to hear him talk about voicing this iconic character.

Of course I also have the most current Mark TV Schedule up for you. I hope you find some goodies to enjoy.

Until next week, with more Mark!

September 2, 2018: Sick Spell

Hi Hamillites!

I hope you've had a great week. This update will be short, because I'm down with a bit of a sick spell. :(

I updated the Mark TV Schedule for you, so that you're not going to miss any goodies. I also continued working on the Regular Show section. Mark's voicework on that has been so extensive, it'd warrant a site of its own!

I hope to be back next week with more Mark!

August 26, 2018: Coding. Lots of coding.

Hi Hamillites!

Welcome to another Sunday update here on Just The Best.

Did you know that Mark's voicing Joker again in the upcoming game Lego DC Super-Villains? Here's the story trailer, Joker included:

More detailed info about the game is available at comicbook.com.

So, I was promising to kick off the Voiceacting section for good, right? Check out the page for Regular Show. It's not completely finished yet, because naturally I picked one of his most extensive projects to start, but it's giving you an idea where I'm going to go with the individual project pages. Like it? Got suggestions? Feel free to let me know.

Also, I've got an update for you in the Fans section. Jenny shared her story of when she met Mark two years ago and kindly agreed to put it here on Just The Best as well. So check it out for another proof that Mark is simply one of the sweetest souls on the planet. Thank you so much for sharing, Jenny!

Of course I have also updated the Mark TV Schedule for you, with goodies in the US, the UK, Germany and Austria. If you follow me on Twitter, I try to send out alerts when he's on.

I hope you enjoyed today's update. Be back next week for more Mark. I keep hoping for some behind-the-scenes pictures or videos from his "Knightfall" shooting.... ;-)

August 19, 2018: Mark in "Knightfall"

Hi Hamillites!

How have you been doing? I've got quite some goodies for you today. Let's start off with a piece of stellar news.

Mark will have a recurring role in Season 2 of Knightfall! He will play Talus, who is described as a veteran of the Crusades who survived a decade in captivity. Read more about the announcement here at The Hollywood Reporter. It sounds like a truly fascinating role. What can go wrong with knights, and swords, and horses, and most importantly, Mark? ;)

After a way too long time, I can finally present you the entry page of the new voiceover section. Of course I'm anything but caught up (there is a gazillion of things missing), but the basic layout stands and I will have the first project section up for you with next week's update. What do you think of the new look?

Of course I also have this week's Mark TV schedule for you. Also with a bit of a new layout and lots of goodies to look forward to. Please don't forget that I need your help with that, please. <3

To close this week's update, check out this short video interview Mark gave to the German website spieletipps.de when he was here to promote The Last Jedi.

See you next week, Hamillites, with more Mark!

August 12, 2018: Having a great summer?

Hi Hamillites!

How is your summer going so far? Has anybody yet found a way to temporarily stop time to get caught up? No? Pity.

Have you heard already that Mark's in the Czech Republic currently? No word on what exactly he's doing there, but aren't we all thinking STAR WARS IX? I am. ;)

I'm still working on the voiceover section. In the meantime, please check out the current Mark TV Schedule. I'm steadily expanding it, but as always, if you have any info to contribute, please let me know.

As I'm so slow in making progress on here, let me make up for that with a little trip back down memory lane - a wonderful and funny behind-the-scenes video of Mark in Wing Commander III. I've always loved Christopher Blair - and if you don't know who that is, then you have missed some amazing stuff, my friends.

I hope to have some of the voiceover section finished for you by next Sunday. No promises, due to a pesky little thing called work, but I'm doing my best. Don't forget that you can follow me on Twitter (@mhisjustthebest) for quick updates and much swooning.

See you soon with more Mark!

July 29, 2018: He's back in IX!

Hi Hamillites!

This weekend, some stellar news have dropped. As per the official Star Wars website, Mark will be back as Luke Skywalker for Episode IX! I'm so thrilled about that, and I'm sure you are, too!

I keep working to reopen the voice section properly, and I'm making progress. :)

In the meantime, check out the most recent Mark TV Schedule to see if you can catch some of his awesomeness where you are. And remember - if you learn of anything Mark on TV in your neck of the woods, let me know, pretty please. :)

Have a great week. I'll be back soon with more Mark.

July 22, 2018: Quick Update

Hi Hamillites!

I'm working on the voiceover section and will hopefully have something for you there soon.

In the meantime, speaking of voices: Mark is going to lend his voice to The Stinky & Dirty Show Season 2 Part 2. Here's the trailer for you:

Do you hear which character is Mark? :)

I have also updated the Mark TV Schedule for you. Remember, I need your help there. If you know of any Mark appearance on TV in your country, please let me know. Also, if you know of TV schedule websites for your country, it'd be great if you could send me the link.

I'll be back soon again, Hamillites, with more Mark!

July 12, 2018: Saturn Award Winner

Hi Hamillites!

I'll spare you my usual time constraint yammering and just come straight on with the goodies.

Big congratulations to Mark for winning Best Actor at the 44th Saturn Awards for his performance as Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi! I thought you were sublime and you deserve all the awards of the world for it. <3

This is Mark's 3rd Saturn for Best Actor and you can see him with the award in the right-hand column. There are plenty of gorgeous photos from the event at Getty Images. And of course there are videos! Here are four lovely clips, complete with insightful interviews:

If you look to your right, you can also see that I reintroduced Just The Best's Mark on TV section. This is a section where I will be grateful for any and all input from you Hamillites all over the world. If you find out Mark's on TV in your neck of the woods, wherever it is, and you don't see it listed here, drop me a note. Pretty please with cherry on top. :)

I hope to be back with you on here soon with more Mark. All the best to you, Hamillites!

June 3, 2018: New pics and a new section

Hi Hamillites!

I think I might have wrestled a stage victory from my time table and my inner perfectionist, so I'm just going to throw stuff at you weekly with no set plan - recent, old, from somewhere in the middle.

On May 31 Mark was at the 32nd Israel Film Festival Sponsor Luncheon in Beverly Hills. There are plenty of photos at Getty Images - looking sharp. :) Also, here's a short article with details on the event - and mainly on Mark's choice of wardrobe. Sharp, as I said. No videos sighted yet - maybe selfies and stuff will soon surface.

Also today, I am introducing a new section - Twitter King, located as a subsection under Mark Facts & Figures. Because it is obviously a fact that he is King of Twitter. Next to Mark's timeline for anybody who doesn't like social media and/or Twitter specifically, I will collect anything that is just too genius to risk being buried in the Twitter archives. Kicking off, please find all of Mark's May the... tweets for your reading pleasure. No clue what I'm talking about? Well, find out! I don't think you'll regret it.

Have a great week ahead, Hamillites! Take care of yourself, keep loving Mark and come back next week for a Mark fix. :)

May 21, 2018: Doing the silent gushing

Hi Hamillites!

I'll just give up making promises, ladies and gentlemen. I'm sorry for always not keeping up. I wish there was a way to plug my brain and heart straight to the computer and just transfer all the ideas straight to the website. Rest assured that there is no way whatsoever I'll abandon this place of unabashed obsession; it's a matter of finally winning control over my time table.

As I struggle, why don't you just click on this link here and enjoy 90+ minutes of pure Mark. (As always it's still way too short. ;D)

And for your daily gushing, click on over to my Twitter. If I fall behind covering Mark's staggering mass of projects, I never fall behind in shameless fan-girling. ;)

I will try to be back much sooner. Take care and keep loving Mark! :)

March 25, 2018:
Congrats to our Empire Icon and Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree! <3

Hi Hamillites!

Once again, I can only apologize for my prolonged absence. One good thing about it: I have identified the culprit. I realized it's perfectionism. If I wait with getting all the coding I have done on the website out to you until it's perfect, I'll never get it out, because it's never going to be perfect. So I won't even try to make it perfect anymore. Next week is Easter, that means four glorious free days - and it'll all be out here for you to see. Until then, to the nine Corellian hells with order or a system. I'll just throw all the goodies of the last weeks at you now to dig into and bother about archiving it all properly later. ;) So, ready for spacing yourself out with a serious Mark overdose? Here we go.

First of all, another round of big congratulations to Mark: On March 18, he was presented with the Empire Icon Award at the Rakuten TV Empire Awards 2018 in London! He's always been an icon to me and if I could I would shower him with awards - it's great to see that others are doing it for me. :) Here is his touching acceptance speech:

And we continue with an interview at the Awards:

You all know, of course, that on March 8 Mark got his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, right? Here is the full ceremony, with heart-warming speeches by George Lucas and Harrison Ford, and Mark being as eloquent as always. It was wonderful to see him surrounded by friends and family and being so happy about it:

He was also the International Guest of Honour at the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Ireland and seemed to have a ton of fun with Marilou and Chelsea by his side. Still collecting video and picture links on that. For now, just look how he makes the day of these kids - and their Mom ;D:

He also hopped over to Gibraltar to open their Skywalk:

As recently as this Friday, he sat down with Frank Oz for 2 hours of blissful conversation in New York. I could listen to him forever. The event was streamed live, though unfortunately the full-length recording doesn't seem available anymore at present. Here are two short excerpts:

As soon as I find the whole recording, I'll let you know. There was much more of course. He was also in Texas for the premiere of the The Last Jedi documentary. Here he is crashing Rian's panel at 33 minutes:

Here's the Q&A after the screening of the documentary:

And here we go with a wonderful 10-minute interview:

There's tons and tons more out there and I'll bring it to you all in some kind of ordered and condensed format soon. In the meantime, hop on over to Getty Images for all your picture needs.

And don't forget to check me out on Twitter at @mhisjustthebest because that's where I can post stuff under the week - pictures, video links and goodies. I have some ideas how to interweave my Twitter and Just The Best a little more and a miles-long list of things planned. Bear with me while I battle Darth Real Life into oblivion.

Enjoy all of the above and have a great week, Hamillites. Stay happy and keep loving the one and only Awesome One. <3

March 4, 2018: Happy Birthday, Griffin!

Hi Hamillites!

Once again work has a firm grip on me. But today is a special day, so I just needed to free some time for this happy place of mine.

First of all, a very happy birthday to Mark's son Griffin. He is turning 35 today. All the best to you for the new year of your life. Hope you will have a splendid day with food, fun and presents. :)

Tonight, Mark will be a presenter at the Academy Awards. Tune in, if you can, I know he will make it perfect.

On March 2nd, Mark was presented with the Oscar Wilde Award - congratulations, Mark! You deserve all the love and recognition in the world and I love how it keeps coming your way. <3

He was also at Letters Live last week.

Head on over to my Twitter @mhisjustthebest for lots of video clips and pictures and for even more gorgeous pictures check out Getty Images.

Of course this week, March 8, Mark will get his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! You can watch the live stream at http://www.walkoffame.com/pages/upcoming-ceremonies. If you are in Los Angeles, you can attend live, too. It doesn't cost a cent, so go and support Mark. I wish I could. :)

I'm looking forward to a spring and summer of website working. Cross your fingers. I will be back soon with more Mark. And don't forget that I post daily everything Mark I find on Twitter at @mhisjustthebest - you don't need to even register to see all the goodies. :)

See you soon, Hamillites! Stay warm and keep loving Mark. :)

February 11, 2018: Happy Birthday, Marilou!

Hi Hamillites!

It's February 11, and that means that this update starts with a big, heartfelt HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mark's wife Marilou! Sending all the best wishes for today and the future over to Malibu! Here's to hoping for a day filled with evertyhing and everyone you love and hopefully some nice presents, too. <3

On February 5, Mark presented Rian Johnson with an award for The Last Jedi at the AARP's 17th Annual Movies For Grownups Awards in Beverly Hills. There are plenty of gorgeous photos over at Getty Images.

Also, here he is being interviewed on the red carpet, and taking pictures with lovely Marilou by his side:

Hopefully his speech will appear online, too, at some point. So far I haven't had any luck finding it.

I have been implementing some time management changes and I'm cautiously optimistic that they will pay off soon. Cross your fingers! Until then, if you want to see everything on Mark that I find, check out my Twitter @mhisjustthebest.

Have a great week, Hamillites! See you soon with more Mark.

February 4, 2018: Goodies

Hi Hamillites!

How have you been this week? Before I yammer on again about work and my lack of control over my time, let's just dive into a couple of goodies, shall we?

On Thursday, February 1 Mark was guest at a fundraiser by Lady Parts Justice and hand crafted several items which are up for auction: He drew a Joker and signed it, he decorated a stormtrooper helmet, he is going to record a message of the winning bidder's choice in his Joker voice and he is going to personalize a "The Last Jedi" poster for the winning bidder. Check out the items here. The video of the Telethon is at the Lady Parts Justice website and there are pictures from the event over at my Twitter (@mhisjustthebest).

I also found an amazing link with a ton of high-quality color stills of Mark in his various theater plays. This is a true gem. It's on the website of the New York Public Library: Start here for him in Amadeus and use the search function to get many more pictures!

That's not all yet! Check out this German podcast from December! Tim Westerholt met Mark for his podcast Eine Stunde Film (1 Hour about Movies). For all non-German Hamsters, the actual interview with Mark is in English - fast-forward to 30:21 and you're good to go.

There will be more new pictures coming soon, because Mark will be one of the presenters at the 17th Annual Movies for Grownups Awards on February 5 (tomorrow!) in Los Angeles. Have fun, Mark!

I wish everyone a great week and I'll soon be back with more Mark. For new stuff during the week, check my Twitter @mhisjustthebest (you don't need to follow or even be on Twitter to see all the goodies ;-D).

January 28, 2018: A riddle

Hi Hamillites!

I have a riddle for you: What do you get if you combine a cold, 55-hour work weeks and a severe lack in time-management skills? Right. Me on a 4-week website hiatus.

I'm truly sorry that this year is starting like the last year ended. All the goodies are piling up on my PC waiting to be put on here. In the meantime, I post absolutely anything Mark I find on my Twitter. You can see the feed in the right column here on Just The Best. The link is here: @mhisjustthebest.

Hamillites in Germany can catch Mark in Sushi Girl at 12:40 AM CET tonight on Silverline. If you're a night owl and not of the faint of heart, you should not miss him as Crow.

I have every intention to get control over my timetable (because I really would like to keep my sanity for a while longer). Bear with me until I do and enjoy all the Mark awesomeness on my Twitter and of course on HIS Twitter. You are following him, aren't you?! It's @HamillHimself, in case you don't.

See you soon, Hamillites!

December 31, 2017: Happy New Year to Mark & family

Good evening, Hamillites!

Depending on where in the world you are, it might already be 2018 for you. Here in Germany it's not even 8 PM yet, so I'm still beautifully in time for my New Year's update. You might have noticed already: I have an all-new splash page and layout for you, and I have implemented it everywhere on the site, too. What do you think? Like it?

99% of the sections are ready and set up to be filled with anything and everything Mark. Because this is what has always been my mission with this website during the last 17 years: to give you a one-stop source for everything a fan could wish to know about him and all his projects, past, present and future.

In the side bar, you can also find my Twitter embedded: follow me on @mhisjustthebest for all the most recent stuff I find about Mark! And if you want to get an idea how insanely busy he's been this year simply with public appearances already, check out the fully revamped Conventions & Events section.

Hop over to Getty Images for plenty of pictures of Mark at the Chinese premiere of The Last Jedi in the week before Christmas. And to not leave you with only the new layout and the promise of a 2018 full of Mark goodness, here's a hilarious interview gem for you:

Have a great New Year's Eve, everyone! I wish you only the best for 2018. Stay healthy and Hamillite! <3

December 24, 2017: Merry Christmas!

Hi Hamillites!

Merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate, and especially of course to Mark and his entire family over in Malibu! I hope you're having a spiffy day with lots of tasty food, loving company, fun and plenty of presents, Mark. Much love from Germany! <3

You will be happy to hear that the coding work on the website is going well and I'll be able to keep my New Year deadline for a massive end-of-the-year update, setting the stage for an amazing Mark year of 2018.

To tend you over the wait, and because Christmas is also a day of feasting, why don't you hop over to the Channel 4 website and watch Mark cook up a storm on Jamie and Jimmy's Friday Night Feast?

See you soon, Hamillites!

December 17, 2017: The vacation has started

Gosh, folks, I'm so sorry for having been MIA. End of the year at work was insane. But, I'm on vacation now and I have a huge to-do list of Mark goodies to tick off for you.

I went to see "The Last Jedi" yesterday and I plead shook and shaken for today. But tomorrow I'll dig into the coding in earnest, so you can expect lots until the end of the year. That's a Hamillite promise.
If you're too impatient to wait until I've got it all neatly collected here, head on over to my Twitter. There's no particular order there, but LOTS OF MARK. ;)

See you soon!

November 26, 2017: Force majeure

Hi Hamillites!

I hope you had a stellar week and a wonderful weekend. :) I had a great lineup of goodies to share with you. Then a major kitchen disaster happened, and I spent the late afternoon and early evening cleaning. Don't ask.

In any case, now it's too late to wrap up the whole exciting week. Mark was in Mexico promoting The Last Jedi. All will be shared in due time. But to give you at least some goodies, head on over to Getty Images for a picture fix.

Until I manage to get everything properly sorted here, you can head on over and find plenty of video clips on my Twitter.

He is also slated to be on Good Morning, America on December 1, The Ellen DeGeneres Show on November 28 and Jimmy Kimmel, also on Friday, December 1.

The countdown to my Christmas vacation is on. In two weeks I will be off and you can expect lots of things on here. I can barely wait and I'm sure until then there will be so much more Mark to share. :)

Have a great week, everyone!

November 20, 2017: Mark at Disneyland

Hi Hamillites!

I promised I would be back today with Mark goodies and here I am. So, as part of the promotion for The Last Jedi, Mark surprised guests on the Star Tours ride at Disneyland last week, as far as I know a total of three times. Needless to say, they were thrilled! Here are some videos:

Here we've got a different angle. Mark is on at about 4:50, but please watch it through, cause it's even cooler to see all the excitement before and afterwards!

This one here starts the same from yet another angle, but catches Mark a little longer after sitting down:

These must be from the other two rides he was on:

As usually, I'm pretty sure there must be more online and I will keep hunting.

Also, Mark has officially begun the PR tour for Last Jedi and it's going to start in Mexico. I'm sure there's going to be tons of stuff out and I will do my best to collect.

If you cannot wait until the next Sunday update, feel free to pop over to my Twitter, @mhisjustthebest, where I retweet and post all Mark goodies I find.

See you soon, Hamillites!

November 19, 2017: A little delay

Hi Hamillites!

I hope you all had a great week! Me, I had a surprise visit by family this afternoon and therefore have to push this week's update to tomorrow. Check back Monday evening for your latest Mark fix. I promise you will love it. :)

See you tomorrow!

November 12, 2017: New interviews galore

Hi Hamillites!

Another week over, with Mark being so busy that keeping up with current events is all I can do - or try to do, anyway. ;)

On November 9, Interview Magazine published a fabulous interview with Mark titled Jedi master Mark Hamill geeks out with Bill Hader, complete with breathtaking new pictures.

Yesterday, November 12, there was another wonderful new interview published by Stellar Magazine, a lovely read.

There is also a new Mark interview in the current issue of SFX Magazine, which I haven't yet read. If you can, pick the issue up!

If you want to know why Mark was chosen for Brigsby Bear, check out this article at ETOnline, complete with a short clip of Mark voicing Brigsby Bear.

And to finish all of that great reading up with some equally as great video, check out Mark and Carrie's daughter Billie at Customer KOA Gala - Dreamforce 2017. Enjoy it right here:

That's it for today. I'm looking forward to seeing you all back here next Sunday for your weekly Mark fix. :)

November 5, 2017: Hello, hello

Hi Hamillites!

How are you doing? I hope all is well in your corner of the world. And mabye less busy than in mine. ;) I've been stuck with some huge projects at work and have had nil time to work on JTB. Very sorry about that.

This, too, can only be a short shoutout, but I come bearing some goodies.

Check out the New York Times piece Luke Skywalker speaks. It's a marvelous interview, accompanied by several amazing shots of Mark.

Also, last week Mark was doing the keynote at YEXT Onward 2017. I didn't find a video yet, but am looking. Yesterday, he and his wife attended the LACMA Art + Film Gala honoring Mark Bradford and George Lucas. There are lots of wonderful pictures of both events at Getty Images.

In other great news, Mark will be honored with the Oscar Wilde Award. Congratulations, Mark! Read all details here.

And there's an exciting as of yet unconfirmed piece of news annoucning Mark will write another comic book! As a big fan of his Black Pearl and Treehouse of Horror stories, I'd be all for this.

Be safe and have a great Sunday evening, Hamillites! The end of the work stress is just around the corner and it's not too long anymore until my December vacation, so my hopes for some serious work on this little place of Hamill mania are high. <3

October 22, 2017: Finally back with Mark goodies!

Hi Hamillites!

How have you been? I hope all is well in your corner of the world. As promised, I'm finally back and I have lots of Mark for you to see.

Let me kick this update off with a great fan story about meeting Mark by Shannon. She saw him for an autograph and a photo at Fan Expo 2016 in Toronto. Also check out her Twitter accounts about STAR WARS and Mark (links in her story). Thank you so much for sharing, Shannon!

This week, on October 18, Mark was at the Sitecore Symposium for a Fireside Chat. Below is the 50+-minutes video of it - as always, you could just listen to him forever and ever!

Here is another version, recorded from farther back.

I still owe you more stuff from New York Comic-Con, of course. I shared the pics over at Getty Images last week, and I'm perpetually looking for more. Here are some videos from An Evening with Mark Hamill at the Hammerstein. I haven't found a complete recording yet, but I'm hunting. If you've been there and want to share your experience, get in touch!

Here's his entry:

There are more short pieces from all throughout the evening, featured in this playlist in my YouTube account (hamillfan).

This one here shows once more how wonderful Mark is with fans. So patient to give everyone a chance for a picture:

Another great one:

And here are two shorter ones from the convention floor. Having never actually been to a convention, it just strikes me how full and loud this is!

I'm sure there's tons more out there and I will keep searching and am tinkering with a better way to present it all to you. Such a pity I have a dayjob. ;-)

I hope you enjoy all this. Have a great week, Hamillites, and I'll be back soon with more Mark!

October 15, 2017: Recovering from a cold

Hi Hamillites!

I'm terribly sorry for the two-week silence. That cold turned out nasty and I am still recovering. And because of it, I'm pretty behind in about everything and needed to work this weekend. So no Mark for me. :(

I'm merrily saving links to stuff from New York Comic-Con, though, and will get it all to you with next week's update.

Until then, enjoy a couple of great photos from the event at Getty Images.

Autumn and winter are coming, which means I'll have much more time for this little place of Hamill mania. Until soon, Hamillites! <3

October 1, 2017: Happy Birthday, Mark! (Oy, a copy/paste error. I leave that here for Mark and family to laugh about me. So, don't hold back. *slinksawayinfangirlshame*)

Hi Hamillites!

I am marooned on the couch with the first cold of the season, so I can only give you a quick news flash.

Mark will be keynote speaker at the Sitecore Symposium 2017, which will be held October 16 to 19 in Las Vegas.

And of course next weekend he will be at New York Comic-Con on all Con days. I hope we'll get lots of new pics and vids and I hope everyone who is going to meet him there will have a stellar time. I'd love for you to share your experience with me! ;)

Until next week, everyone, with more Mark and hopefully cold-free!

September 25, 2017: Happy Birthday, Mark!

Hi Hamillites!

In honor of Mark's birthday the weekly update comes today and with an all-new header photo. Hope you like. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM GERMANY, MARK!
I admire and adore you more than words can say, so let me just send lots of love and all the best wishes. I hope you can spend the day with everyone and everything you love! <3<3<3<3<3<3

If you Hamillites want to give Mark a present, why don't you head on over to this Precious Paws fundraiser? Every little donation helps. That said, any donation you can give to whatever charity is close to you will be a great way to celebrate Mark's big caring heart today. <3

Not quite on his birthday, but in his birthday month (close enough, right?), Mark was honored by Cynopsis Kids with the 6th Annual Kids !magination Award in the category Best Guest Appearance on a Kids Show for his voice performance as Woodrow "Woody" Burns on Transformers Rescue Bots. Read more info on the award and other winners here.

Congratulations again, Mark!

I need to get started with work now, but I will be back with more Mark soon. Have a great week, everyone!

September 17, 2017: GQ Video and Mark's visit to Germany

Hi Hamillites!

I hope you had a great week and a relaxing weekend. I have two goodies for you to finish it just right, too.

Finally GQ published the video to go with Mark's amazing photo shoot. Stunning visuals, great interview. Enjoy:

The past week, Mark was in Germany to promote STAR WARS Episode VIII. He visited the daily newspaper BILD at the Axel-Springer-Hochhaus for an interview, video below. The introduction and commentary is in German, but you can understand Mark clearly as he talks:

A fellow fan was nice enough to get me the BILD issue with Mark (thank you!!! <3), so as soon as I have it I can tell you more about whether there was anything more in there than was in the video above.

It appears he also was interviewed by two German YouTubers, but I have found no video to go with that yet. Will keep you posted.

I have something in store for the site next weekend in honor of Mark's birthday on September 25th. Until then, take care Hamillites and have a great week!

September 10, 2017: GQ Icon of the Year 2017 and Jamie Oliver

Hi Hamillites!

Have you heard it yet? Mark has been named GQ Icon of the Year 2017 and has received his award on September 5 at Tate Modern in London! Huge congratulations, Mark! <3 I'm so thrilled and happy for you. It's hugely deserved on so many levels. For Luke, for Joker, for so much more, but most of all for who you are! <3

So, Hamill fans, head on over to Getty Images for an awesome picture fix. And when you're there, they have a short video, too, of Mark arriving at the red carpet with Marilou and Chelsea.

Then watch his wonderful acceptance speech right here:

Now check out this 6-minute Mark interview by British GQ on the red carpet. Want more? No problem at all:

Here's another short one, with Mark at several places, so watch it through:

Also check out this amazing gif here. What can I say? He is marvelous!

For the occasion, he had a great photo shoot with GQ. Scratch that. An amazing photo shoot. Not too much of that online (yet?), but here's some gems to make you faint:

2 awesome shots at photographer Gavin Bond's website
Shot at David Thomas' Twitter
Mark on the GQ cover, courtesy David Thomas

Believe it or not, we are not done yet. Apparently Mark has shot with Jamie Oliver for Jamie and Jimmy's Friday Night Feast on September 7 in Southend. Now, as an avid hobby cook and baker, I'm over the roof with this and cannot wait to see this. If you check out Jamie Oliver's Instagram, it appears Mark's baking was quite successful. :D

Afterwards Mark was gracious enough to go out to waiting fans, doing selfies and videos and signing autographs. Here is some video footage:

I'm sure more footage will surface of that and I will hunt for it to get it to you here. What a wonderful week. :)

Enjoy all the goodies above and don't hesitate to let me know about what I have missed!

Until next week, Hamillites, with more Mark!

September 3, 2017: Family time

Hi Hamillites!

I'm off to visit my granny today, so I don't have time to work on the website. But I wanted to leave you your weekly Mark fix to enjoy, so here's some hilarious Hamill fun. Not brand-new, but awesome to watch:

Next weekend will be gloriously free, and I intend to spend it coding until my keyboard fumes to get you more Mark. See you then and take care!

August 27, 2017: NYCC and a gem of the past

Hi Hamillites!

I hope you had a splendid week. I promised a proper update for this Sunday and here I am.

First of all, if you are headed for New York Comic Con or are planning to, you can now purchase your ticket for the photo-op with Mark. All info is here. The website still doesn't list his final schedule besides the photo ops, though. But if you dig around a bit more, you'll find An Evening with Mark Hamill, on October 7, which sounds like an amazing experience. I am already so envious of everyone with the chance to go. If you can, do! And if you do, pretty please tell me about it. ;-)

Now, for that gem of the past: Did you know that in 1985, Mark hosted an episode of An American Portrait, honoring Dwight Vredenburg and his contribution to finding and bringing home missing children? I have a small section up about it now in Big Screen & Television. Unfortunately the picture is pretty blurry, as the quality of my video isn't very good. Still, wouldn't want to miss it. And I will be on the lookout for a better-quality copy online.

Have a great week everybody and I'll see you soon with more Mark!

August 20, 2017: Paperwork is evil

Hi Hamillites!

You know how that is, when something that should take all about thirty minutes ends up eating your whole weekend? Happened to me this weekend. I didn't want to go without a post, though, so I thought I'd point all of you who haven't seen it yet to the official Brigsby Bear website. Check it out and if you're in the US, find out whether you can see it where you are!

I promise I'll do what I can to have a proper update for you next week. Until then, Hamillites!

August 13, 2017: A small one today

Hi Hamillites!

Welcome to a new update in a very rainy German August. I hope you're enjoying your summer no matter the weather. :) I have had a hell of a busy week, so this update is very small.

I found two great short interviews of Mark at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Grants Banquet. Here you go:

I'm working on quite some things which I hope to get online within the summer. Cross your fingers! Oh, and let me just say how thrilled I am that Mark actually saw THIS when I posted it on Twitter this week. <3 Karen M and Moriah, if ever you read this, thanks so much for collecting!

I need to be gone now for today. But I'll be back next week with much, much more Mark.

August 6, 2017: Lots of things to share

Hi Hamillites!

Welcome to this week's update. I hope you're enjoying your Sunday and are all ready for some marvellous Mark.

Last week, Mark had a street in San Diego dedicated to him. I unfortunately missed that there was a live broadcast of it, but no worries. If like me you couldn't be there and you didn't know of that, there's always YouTube. ;) Check out the full thing right here:

There is also a video on the Facebook page of KUSI News which I couldn't embed. The picture quality is better there with more close-ups, so that's another one to enjoy. Also jump over to Jedi News. They have some great photos of the event, of Mark, his family, and cool fan costumes. :)

And look here for Mark mingling with fans. It's amazing how much time he takes for everyone. I'm so grateful to him for making so many people so happy. And check out this one here, which has got some more interviews at the end. Also a good one right here, from a different angle, but really close-up. I'm sure there are tons more out there and I will share as I find them.

Always worth a visit is Getty Images for plenty of high-quality shots of Mark.

When you're there, you'll notice some other new pics. On August 2nd, Mark attended the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Grants Banquet in Beverly Hills, where he accepted a grant on behalf of USC. He was there with his wife Marilou and his daughter Chelsea.

Also this week, Mark did a cameo on the Season 2 finale of Nightcap. A part of it is here. I know I've seen the full cameo somewhere, and am hunting for it. Will share the link as soon as I find it again.

If you're a Hamillite in the USA, check out the Brigsby Bear Twitter to see when you can get to watch the movie. I'm so envying you. Please cross your fingers that it'll get a Germany release! Oh, and when you're there, why not follow Brigsby Bear? ;)

This is it for this week. I hope you enjoy it. If you have anything to add which I didn't find, I'd be immensely grateful if you got in touch with me.

Have a great week, Hamillites. See you soon with more Mark!

July 30, 2017: Quick Update while wishing I was in San Diego

Hi Hamillites!

First off, a happy belated birthday to Mark's daughter Chelsea, who turned 29 on Thursday this week. Only the very best to you from Germany and I hope you had a superb day with all your loved ones. <3

This weekend I unfortunately didn't have much time to work on the website, but I still wanted to get the most recent goodies to you.

Of course, right now, Mark is getting a street dedicated to him. I wish I could be there. Maybe some of you are! :) I'm sure there will be plenty of pictures and more to share of that next week. If you have no clue whatsoever what I'm talking about, go here.

On Friday, July 28 he was again on FM 949 for an interview leading up to that, which you can listen to here.

On July 25, he was on The Late Late Show with James Corden and it was, of course, hilarious. Find some clips below. There are also some stills available at Getty Images.

And of coure on Friday, Brigsby Bear premiered. If you can see it, go see it! And afterwards, tell me what you thought of it. ;)

I wish you a great week ahead and will be back next week with more Mark!

July 23, 2017: Video, Pics, Trailer, Con, Keynote, Channel. Whew.

Hi Hamillites!

I hope you had a great week. Let's see what I have for you today.

Did you catch Mark being interviewed back-to-back by Guillermo from Jimmy Kimmel Live at D23 Expo? If not, here you go:

On July 29 this week Mark attended the Cinefamily screening of Brigsby Bear in Los Angeles together with his daughter Chelsea and her pups. Pictures are at Getty Images. One of these days I will figure out why it won't let me embed them here.

Talking about Brigsby Bear, there is a new trailer out which you can watch here. It's also to your right in the sidebar. I so hope this film will get a release in Germany. :)

You probably already know, but just in case you didn't, Mark will be at New York Comic Con from October 5 to October 8, 2017 - yes, on all four days! The exact schedule for him isn't out yet, but I'll keep you posted.

It has also been announced that Mark will be the closing keynote speaker at the Yext ONWARD conference in November 2017. Read all about that here.

And of course it's just 1 week to go until Mark will be at his street dedication event for Mark Hamill Drive. Check out the updated info about that right here. I wish I could be there to support Mark, but maybe some other Hamillites will make it. If you go, it'd be awesome if you could give me a shout.

You can probably tell that I'm barely managing to keep up with what's currently going on, so all the rest is taking little baby steps. For one thing, I started updating my YouTube channel dedicated to Mark. It's supposed to collect all Mark vids in one central place, for your viewing pleasure and mine. So check it out right here and maybe bookmark the link or subscribe if you're on YouTube, too.

That's it for today, Hamillites. Have a great week ahead. I'll see you soon with more Mark. :)

July 16, 2017: Congratulations, Mark!

Hi Hamillites!

This week's update will be superb, I tell you.

On Friday, July 15 Mark was attending D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center where he was honored with the Disney Legends Award in the category Film. I am thrilled for him and I am sure you are, too. It was a beautiful ceremony and a wonderful acceptance speech, which you can watch right here:

As part of the ceremony they also got his hand prints. Furthermore he attended two other panels, one of them being the The Last Jedi panel. There is an abundance of images at Getty Images and naturally there's lots of video coverage, too. Let's see:

:: Video Tribute to Mark preceding the award-giving {WATCH IT}
:: Red Carpet: Does Mark Hamill Want a Young Luke Skywalker Movie?
:: Red Carpet: Mark Hamill talks Disney Legend award, Carrie Fisher [...]
:: Mark Hamill On 'Humbling' Disney Legends Award Honor; Talks 'Star Wars: TLJ'
:: 5 minutes with Mark Hamill (Spanish questions, Mark answers in English)
:: Mark at the D23 Street Party
:: Mark and Stan Lee in the D23 Expo Street Party
:: More of Mark at the Street Party
:: Yet a bit more of Mark at the Street Party
:: Even more of the Street Party
:: Yes, STILL more of the Street Party
:: THE LAST JEDI: Mark Hamill at Disney's D23 2017
:: Very short clip of Mark walking into the SW Land pavilion

There must be tons more out there and I will be searching and adding as I find them.

Right, before I forget it: Check out the brand-new BTS footage of Episode VIII and the new character poster for Luke!

In other Mark project news, Brigsby Bear is screening at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, Canada this weekend. I'm very excited for this movie and if you want to know why, why don't you check out these:

:: Brigsby Bear - Sundance 2017 World Premiere Q&A with Mark Hamill
:: Mark Hamill & Kyle Mooney on Poignant, Offbeat Comedy 'Brigsby Bear'

Having been picture and video hunting for most of the weekend, I have not had time to work more on other parts of the website. No worries, though, more is to come. So much more. If you know of anything I'm missing, no matter what or from when, just give me a shout.

Have a great week ahead, Hamillites. Talk to you soon with more Mark! :)

July 9, 2017: Mark Present, Mark Past, Both Fun

Hi Hamillites!

I hope all of you had a splendid week and are enjoying your Sunday!

Let's kick this week's update off with a quote from a lucky fellow Mark fan who was able to see Brigsby Bear already! @herecomeshamill attended a screening at the Munich Film Festival on July 1 and here's her impression of the movie:

Brigsby Bear was sweet, innocent, comedic and on some point inspiring... It lets you see things from another perspective, but in a funny, creative way. Sometimes it leaves you with unease but when Mark shows up you can't stop grinning and admiring him. Kyle Mooney plays his role perfectly and I couldn't stop smiling for how James sees life and the passion for his favorite show.

Thanks so much @herecomeshamill for allowing me to put this here!

For all Hamillites in the US, there is one more occasion in the week to come to catch the movie before its official release. If you go here, you have a chance to win tickets for the advance screening in Madison, Wisconsin on July 13.

Jumping back a couple of weeks, there is another short video of Mark on the red carpet at the Tony Awards. Anglophenia caught him for their clip On Stage Moments That Surprised the Stars.

Talking site stuff, I have added to the Big Screen & Television section with an entry for Mark's appearance in the comedy-drama series Room 222 in 1973. He appeared in Episode 1 of Season 5 as Matt Evans. Find a short recap and a picture of his character right here.

That's it for today. I will have more goodies next week, I hope. Take care of yourself and, oh yes... go follow Mark on Twitter (@HamillHimself) if you haven't yet!

July 2, 2017: Date for Mark Hamill Drive Unveiling

Hi Hamillites!

How is it going? I hope your start into July wasn't as rainy as mine; seems summer is taking a break. All the more reason to give you something that brings a smile to your face.

You remember that street in San Diego that will be renamed Mark Hamill Drive? There has been a date for the unveiling announced now. It's gonna be July 30, 2017 at 2 PM (local time). Check out the info on the website of the City of San Diego and in the informational flyer. If you can, go and support Mark! :)

As for my own little "unveiling" (indulge me, will you?): I can officially open the They met Mark section with a first entry. Laura met Mark at STAR WARS Celebration Europe in London in 2016. Read her lovely account, perfect picture included, too! It also makes a fabulous first entry for my Fan Shot Gallery.

If you've met Mark, I'd be thrilled to have you in that section, too, with an entry as short or as lengthy as you like, with or without picture.... Whatever suits you. Just get in touch.

Now, aside from trying to keep up with current stuff, I'm jumping back and forth through my completely unsystematic collection on and off the PC and will share goodies as I come across them. So, check out this half-hour panel for Batman: Arkham City at Comic-Con International 2011, with Mark, Kevin Conroy, Stana Katic and other gifted people. It's great from start to finish.

Until next time, Hamillites. Have a great week!

June 25, 2017: Happy Birthday, Nathan!

Hi Hamillites!

First for this week, let's all wish a happy birthday to Mark's firstborn Nathan who turns 38 today. Have a great one, Nathan, with family, friends, pups and lots of presents. Only the best to you and yours! <3

Now, this week has been tremendous from a Hamillite point of view, ladies and gentlemen. Did you know that Mark once lived in San Diego, California, for 4 years when he was a kid? Well, he did, and the street he lived in at the time will now be renamed Mark Hamill Drive, as per vote by the San Diego City Council on Tuesday, June 20. Isn't that awesome? Congratulations, Mark!

Check out more details at the The San Diego Union-Tribune.

For the occassion, Mark also called in at Dana & Jayson on FM 949 on June 23 for a radio interview. It's online here, so check it out. Fun, just as any Mark interview. :)

It seems they'd like to have him there at the unveiling, so let's cross fingers that they'll be able to match schedules.

That's not all, though. This week it has also been announced that Mark will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Long overdue and so deserved. Here's a short article on ComicBook.com with a bit more information.

I'm sure you also heard about Brigsby Bear, in which Mark will play Ted Hope. It's slated for a July 2017 release according to the official website at 3311 Productions and will be screened on Thursday, June 29 and Saturday, July 1 at the Munich International Film Festival in Munich, Germany!

Also check out the official trailer and a first clip, both featuring Mark. It looks very unique and interesting. Wish I could go see it in Munich. For any Hamillites in the area, maybe there are still tickets!

The work on the website is continuing. I'm tweaking my concept for the Big Screen & Television section, which is like years behind at the moment. Getting there bit by bit. Eventually, all entries should look like this one for Picture Perfect. I'll probably mirror this for the Voiceacting section and other sections as well.

Here's to hoping that I can pick up pace with the website work during summer. Stay tuned, and don't forget to follow Mark on Twitter if you haven't yet (@HamillHimself).

Talk to you soon, Hamillites!

June 15, 2017: Busy week for Mark

Hi Hamillites!

It's been a busy week for Mark so far. He's been at the 71st Annual Tony Awards in New York on June 11 with his wife Marilou and his daughter Chelsea, where he presented the In Memoriam segment, honoring among others Carrie Fisher.

On June 12 he, Marilou and Chelsea were at the Anne Frank Center Honors Gala of the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect, which was held at the 4 World Trade Center.

On June 14 he and Marilou were at the Los Angeles Film Festival, attending the opening night premiere of The Book of Henry at ArcLight Cinemas in Culver City.

There are plenty of awesome photos of all three events over at Getty Images, FilmMagic, Rex, and WireImage. Here some more goodies:

Video (Variety): Mark on the Red Carpet at the Tony Awards talking about Adam West
Video (E! Live): Mark on the Red Carpet at the Tony Awards talking about Carrie
Video (Entertainment Tonight): Clip of Mark's "In Memoriam" Tribute at the Tony Awards
Video (Maximo TV): Mark and Marilou at the LA Film Festival

Before I go: The entire section of the Broadway run of Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks is back online now! Mark played Michael Minetti in this 2003 play. I will try to get the Miami run section online asap, too.

Talk to you soon, Hamillites!

June 11, 2017: Getting into the Hamster wheel

You have guessed it. A weekly update remains illusory. But I still have been continuously working on the site. After finally having figured out some technical issues, things should go faster now. Important note, though: All contact forms are broken at present as the provider apparently doesn't exist anymore. Will fix that page by page as I progress. If you need to get in touch with me, e-mail me.

Now, for the actually interesting stuff. Mark visited the musical Groundhog Day in New York on June 7. There are some great shots here. Also check out his Twitter to see what else he's been up to in NY so far.

He's there for the 71st Annual Tony Awards as one of the celebrity presenters. If you can, watch on CBS and record it. Last year's Tony Awards are available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon, so here's hoping the 2017 ones will be too, eventually!

That's it for this week. I'll keep brushing up the site, trying to find a concept that works for me and for what I want to do with it. If you like, follow me on Twitter at @mhisjustthebest.

See you soon, Hamillites!

April 16, 2017: Look who's back!

Gosh, is it really 2017 already? I don't know whether anybody is even still coming here to check whether Chaos Queen Sienn has finally gotten her act together to return to this place.

Needless to say, I was never gone from Mark fandom. If anything, my addiction has grown steadily more intense. I have been following everything he did, have been rooting and enjoying; I just didn't have the time to get back to Just The Best. This will change starting today.

That said, as a full-time freelance translator, I unfortunately no longer have the many hours available that I had during school and university to devote to Mark. So I can't tell you how long it will take to get this website back into shape. I can only tell you that I will work on it steadily. One thing in my favor is that for the most recent Mark news, all you have to do is follow him on Twitter (see Mark Link Roll in the box to your right). That gives me a bit of breathing space. ;)

Naturally, I am farther behind than Tatooine is away from the bright center of the galaxy. But I'll just consider this my happy hamster wheel. Yes, I know these days we're Hamsters; told you I have been around all the time to quietly worship the Master Hamster. ;)

Today is really just a shout out to let you know I'm back and I intend to stay. Should I not find time to brush up the many sections, I will at the very least be here for your regular Mark fix with news and links as I find them.

Of course currently, Mark is in Orlando, Florida, for STAR WARS Celebration. My picture hunt has only just begun, and I'm sure the internet is full of shots, but for a quick first fix go to Getty Images. Careful, though, ladies: he is smoking hot, so make sure you have a soft landing in case you drop off your chair.

Once you have recovered from the pictures, indulge in his panels. Get tissues for his Carrie Fisher tribute. It was wonderful, thoughtful, heartfelt, brilliant... so fitting for the amazing woman she was and I can only send virtual hugs to him, and thanks for sharing such private pain and memories with us fans. <3

40 Years of STAR WARS Panel
Mark Hamill's Carrie Fisher Tribute
The Last Jedi Panel

I am very happy to be back and can't wait to share in my Mark fandom with you. It's a Hamster world! <3

September 25, 2013: Happy Birthday, Mark!

Spend a wonderful day with your loved ones! All the best and lots of love from Germany!

September 22, 2013: Getting Back into a Rhythm

Hi there!

Once more, I've been absent for much longer than I had planned. And once more, I have every intention to find back that lovely Sunday-Mark-fix rhythm of past times. I'm taking little baby steps and working on putting JTB back into shape.

The Movies section is half-way there. All individual movie pages of the previous JTB version are back online and will be perfected and added to within the next few weeks. I'll try my best to get you individual sections for Sushi Girl and Airborne asap.

Also, I'm in the process of collecting goodies from Celebration Europe, which I will hopefully have for you soon. After all, it's Mark's birthday on Wednesday. ;)

Until then, everyone!

July 1, 2013: Mark at the PromaxBDA Awards!

Hi, everyone!

I apologize for the delay, but the weekend has been busy. If someone has a magic trick to add, say, five or six hours to a day, let me know. That said, I come bearing goodies. YouTube videos, to be exact, of Mark at the PromaxBDA awards on June 20. Here's the complete laudatio and Mark's speech.

And here's two shorter clips from closer up, of some parts of his speech: Clip 1 and Clip 2.

Google also tells me that Mark was at George Lucas' wedding reception on Saturday, June 29. No pics found yet.

I hope that sometime soon I will finally get around to brushing up some more sections of JTB. On the other hand, if I find new videos every weekend, I can live with unfinished layout pretty well. :)

See you next week!

June 23, 2013: Sushi Girl and a tiny update!

Hello, Hamill fans!

I've been pretty busy at work these last few weeks, which is why I haven't had any time for major work on JTB. I wanted to share some news with you, though.

As you might already know, on June 20, Mark was honored at the PromaxBDA Promotion, Marketing and Design Awards. Check out WireImage and Getty Images for photos!

Also, there are thrilling news for all European Hamill fans - Mark will be at Celebration Europe in Germany!! Whohoo! All info is at the official site at www.starwarscelebration.eu.

Enjoy and until next time, Hamnillites!

June 9, 2013: Sushi Girl and a tiny update!

Greetings, Hamillites!

I had a busy weekend, so today's update is tiny - to be ready when Mark will be honored at the PromaxBDA Promotion, Marketing and Design Awards on June 20, I have re-uploaded the Awards section for you.

And I finally had the opportunity to see Sushi Girl yesterday. What can I say? Watch it! It's not normally the kind of movie I'd go for, but that said, I liked it quite. You don't see the end coming, and the acting compensated for the bloody, shiver-inducing parts.

Needless to say, Mark was stellar. From what I read before of his Crow, I had not really expected that kind of character. The violence part, yes. The rest,... not at all. If you have seen the film, get in touch. There's nothing like a nice chat about a Mark movie. :)

June 2, 2013: Finally Back for Good!

I know I've said it before, but this time, it's true. After an involuntary three-year hiatus, Just The Best is finally back for good, with an all-new layout! Do you like it? I hope so! If you have any feedback, send it along!

For the time being, in many places you will still read Coming soon.... Since I am no website pro, I am doing the conversion to the new layout by hand, and I can only work on it during the weekend, so it will still take a while. But it will grow bit by bit every Sunday.

And what a perfect time to come back, since there seem to be exciting Mark news every other day! Did you catch him on Criminal Minds, for example? Have you already seen Sushi Girl? Not to speak of the voices he's done. I have so much to catch up with and I'm looking forward to it big time. And of course there's another highlight that we didn't have three years ago - Mark is on Twitter! So what are you waiting for? Follow him now!

To get back into the swing of things, why don't you check out Mark's Question & Answer session at the CapeTown Film Festival at the beginning of May? As always, I could listen to him forever.

And mark June 20 in your calendars - Mark will be presented with the Don Lafontaine Legacy Award at the PromaxBDA Promotion, Marketing and Design Awards that day. Whohoo! :)

It's good to be back and I'm looking forward to talking to you again next Sunday. Until then, Hamillites!
