Meeting Mark: Moriah Take 2

Story

Never tell me the odds. That's right. Odds are irrelevant to me now. You know why?

How many people (regular people, not the ones in the industry) can say they've met Mark Hamill twice? It's like getting hit by lightning...

Don't let me get a swollen head, Sienn, please. It's not as big a deal as it sounds, but still... not bad at all. It's just so easy.

I'd had another hard beginning of the week, so Wednesday night when I went to order tickets to Six Dance Lessons for me and my classmate and saw that a show was about to start, I wondered... should I see it again just for kicks? Should I go home?

Well, screw it all, I went ahead and bought a cheap balcony ticket. I was bored and needed a laugh. Was I ever surprised when I was upgraded to the mezzanine (middle level) free of charge. A $50 seat for only $25! It wasn't a full house, so they'd closed off the balcony. That was nice thing #1.

So afterwards, this time around, I knew exactly what to do. It was so cold, only one big family stuck around wanting to get their Playbills signed. For me, I wanted an autograph for my friend, just in case she wouldn't be able to make it next Saturday or Mark didn't come outside. It's times like these that make me happy for listening to my gut instinct.

This second meeting was even better than the last. It was drizzling steadily, so the first thing out of Mark's mouth was an insistence that we all get under the theater awning to stay dry. Very sweet. When I asked him if he could personalize his autograph to my friend, he wrote, "For Ling" with a heart pierced by an arrow. I didn't ask him to do that. He did it himself. I laughed and told him she'd faint. (And she very nearly did this morning!) And I thanked him graciously and told him I was doing my part to bring him more viewers.
