Summary

Professor Tobias LeConte is a blind genius and close friend of Captain Bridger's friend Scott. No one even suspects that Tobias is not human - the real Tobias LeConte was injured in his childhood, as an asteroid crashed on Earth close to the safari campsite of his family. The asteroid, though, was actually an alien ship; the pilot merged with the young boy and became him, protecting his body from the effects of the ship's radiation.

Tobias LeConte teaches astrophysics and helps his former pupil Scott with a project every now and then. When another asteroid crashes into the sea, no one can foresee the threat it is both to the seaQuest, who is sent to investigate, but also to Tobias.

The asteroid carried another alien of his race - one sent to find and kill him, since he revolted a long time ago against the authorities on his homeplanet Hyberion and left, ending up on Earth. He was condemned to death by the government he had turned his back to.

By the time the seaQuest crew understands what's really going on, it might already be too late...
