Summary

Strange things happen in Midwich. Every single citizen falls into mysterious unconsciousness. A while after they wake, the women find out they're pregnant; all of them.

The events catch the attention of the government and agents are sent to observe the pregnancies and the births. At first the children seem normal enough, but soon they show dangerous and spooky abilities. They are capable of forcing others to obey them. As more and more of Midwich's inhabitants commit suicide under mysterious circumstances, people begin to realize that the children are evil.

While Dr. Alan Chaffee is the lead character and undertakes to get rid of the children, Reverend George is living through a drama of his own. As he witnesses the children's crimes, he finds only one thing to do, but will he succeed?
