Mark says...
"There I get to play a person within our realm of experience. I look a lot older in it and I look grubby and realistic without makeup."

Summary
Griff is member of the Big Red One, a division of the US Army. In World War II, his unit is deployed in Europe. He is an excellent sniper, but also a very young man. Confronted with the harsh reality of armed conflict, he grapples with one question - when is killing murder? Paralysed when called to shoot an enemy, Griff has serious problems to cope with his duty. As he follows his superior and his unit onto the battle field, they see many faces of the war and Griff has plenty of opportunity to mature and prove himself.
