Mark Hamill: A Force To Be Reckoned With
The feature was screened as part of a series of high-quality
biographies of various STAR WARS actors, hosted by Samuel L. Jackson.
In approximately 60 minutes we are treated to an extensive look at Mark's life from childhood to the present day.
The picture is highly authentic thanks to commentary by members of Mark's family: his brother Will, his sister Terri, his cousin Eric, as
well as his wife Marilou and his daughter Chelsea.
Careful research makes for an inside view of the motivations and passions that have driven Mark all throughout his years in
the entertainment industry. Starting with plays he did at school the biography then tells us of his first professional acting job in the play
Anthems in E Flat Calliope and proceeds to the multitude of roles in popular TV series and movies he landed soon after.
We travel from the making of
the STAR WARS trilogy through his time in theater on and off Broadway and join him as he branches out
not only into acting, but also into writing, voiceacting and directing.
Aside of the enlightening and interesting look at Mark's career and the choices he has made over time, the biography is a joy to watch because of
the warmth, respect and admiration the interviewees bring to it. There is not only his family, but also a throng of
people he has worked with over the years. There are George Lucas, Gary Kurtz and Frank Oz from STAR WARS.
There are Linda Blair and Annie Potts, his co-stars in Sarah T.: Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic and
Corvette Summer, and Dick van Patten, alongside whom
Mark played in Eight is Enough. There are Carole Shelley and Christine Ebersole, whom he worked with in theater, and Danny Bilson,
Tom Russo and Bob Underwood, who've worked with him on several occasions in voiceacting and
on The Flash.
This biography is an absolute must-see. If you are a Mark Hamill fan already, it'll show you why you are. If you're not yet a Mark Hamill fan, it'll show you
why to become one.
